Many nationalities can visit Iran without a visa. Below is an updated list of nationalities that can visit Iran, without a visa (as of Feb. 2024). People holding ordinary passports from these countries can stay in Iran for up to the mentioned duration. This allowance can be used once in every 6-month period.
If you need to stay in Iran for longer than the allowed duration, you need to apply for a visa on arrival (VOA) or visa before travel.
Notice:
- Indian Citizens: Visa-Free entry of Indian citizens to Iran is only valid for air arrivals. Those Indian citizens planning to arrive on land or sea, need to apply for an Iran visa before travel.
- Russian Citizens: Russian citizens can only enter visa-free in an organised group (by an Iranian tour operator)
